Welcome to Simms Cross Nursery.

Please read our information newsletter which can be found in the list of attached files.

Key Information

Mr Dutton is the class teacher in Nursery and Mrs Jones is the teaching assistant. We offer places for 15 hours per week at our Nursery. The Nursery sessions start at 8.45am and finish at 11.45am. Children are collected and dropped off at the Nursery entrance, which is situated down the path to the left of the main car park. Children are expected to wear uniform when in the Nursery.

Snack is provided by Nursery without any charge to parents. Children have the choice of milk or water and a selection of fruit each session.

We ask that parents assist in toilet training their children when in Nursery. Changing facilities are available in Nursery however wipes and a change of clothes must be provided by parents. We ask that all children have a spare change of clothes in Nursery at all times. If these are needed and they are not in Nursery, staff will ring home for parents.

The children participate in daily Phonics sessions focusing on listening and attention skills. The children are encouraged to communicate with each other, be inquistive and prepare for being ''school ready'' as they progress into Reception class. The children learn a Nursery Rhyme each week which helps with language development, recognising rhyme and rhythm and enhancing confidence in speaking.
